A SAD February in Ohio

Oh boy, do I have some explaining to do…

I apologize for the lack of updates the past few weeks, I tend to get a bit of the Seasonal Affective Disorder come around this time of year. You’d think we’d all be accustomed to being stuck inside the past couple of years, yet Ohio’s winters are generally at their harshest in February and while I’m keen on gallivanting around in the colder temperatures, other factors at hand put me in a mood not conducive with keeping up with the blog. I’m looking forward to the next few weeks as Spring begins to slowly creep in, bringing patio sitting, warm walks, and damn good food.

Fortunately, sadness aside, I still drink loads of coffee and recently subscribed to the Atlas Coffee Club subscription service, so at least the Instagram wasn’t terribly lacking. An old friend also came into town this past weekend, granting an opportunity to try out some new places, get out of the house (and my head), and have some company.

In any case, I’m working on getting together the posts for the spots visited for Columbus’ Restaurant Week last month, which was a grand way to start the year off, going to some newer places about town and trying new things. Also with my friend in town bringing together our social circle, it was a prime chance to meet up with another one of my friends who has been in the food industry the past decade in establishments such as Barcelona, Forbidden Root, and many others, to pick her brain about where to eat for the year.

Thanks for understanding and sticking with me, I’ve got some BIG PLANS coming up for May and will be visiting a restaurant this weekend that I’ve had my eye on for some time, we can only go up from here!
