Hashi (Granville, Ohio)

These cold days have me thinking of foods that are a little fattier and denser than others; I’m a slender lad and need all the calories I can get to stay warm in the Ohio winters. Daydreams of beef stews, buttered breads, cones of french fries, fried fish… The last time I visited Granville in the Fall, a hearty meal was needed for the turning of the season and most of the places were filled up for one of “The Games” except Hashi, mainly because it lacked TVs plastered up everywhere.

After getting settled and speaking with the server, she explained Hashi was a place for a group to come to share their larger offerings, such as the Beef Bulgogi and the Seafood Pancake that we ordered, the Haemul Pajeon. The first thing that enters my mind when I visit Japanese Sushi and Korean Cuisine place is “I hope there’s Eel”, so once their presence was confirmed, a few Eel Nigiri were thrown in for myself. Even though I was to the brim, a cup of Miso soup was needed to top off my stomach with warmth before heading back out into that rather chilly day to meander over to Seek-No-Further Cidery.
